AIM:  Learn contemporary agricultural development and rural development policy and exercise agribusiness decision making in consideration with SDGs and global economics change
OBJECTIVES

  • Focusing on food and agriculture, investing in rural people, and transforming the rural
  • sector – actions associated with the holistic vision of SDG2 – can speed progress towards all
  • 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

COURSE CONTENT 

Introduction to Sustainable Development Goal indicators under agriculture  development

  • SDG Indicator 2.1.2: Using the Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES)
  • SDG Indicator 2.a.1: Agriculture orientation index; 
  • SDG Indicator 2.c.1: Food price anomalies
  • SDG Indicator 5.a.1: Share of women among owners or rights-bearers of agricultural land, by type of tenure
  • SDG Indicator 5.a.2: Ensuring women’s legal rights to land ownership and/or control
  • SDG Indicator 6.4.2: Substantially increase water-use efficiency across all sectors and ensure sustainable withdrawals and supply of freshwater to address water scarcity and substantially reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity: Level of water stress
  • SDG Indicator 14.b.1: Provide access for small-scale artisanal fishers to marine resources and markets: Progress by countries in the degree of application of a legal/regulatory/policy/institutional framework which recognizes and protects access rights for small-scale fisheries (Securing sustainable small-scale fisheries)
